A Future Drummer?!

Well not a whole lot happened this week but there are a few noteworthy things. First off I think we may have a future drummer on our hands. Aunt Tennille and Uncle Dave got Devin a Bee Bop Band and of course the drum sticks are his favorite.

Here is a video of Devin practicing his drums, sorry the video isn't great but every time I started recording he stopped doing it.

Devin's other first this past weekend was eating corn ON the cob! He tried eating some off Daddy's and then he wanted his own. He did a really great job, by the time he was done eating he had eaten 1 1/2 cobs of corn.

Here is a video of Devin eating his corn on the cob, Dan thought everyone needed to see this, it is really cute, enjoy!

Devin has also been doing some artwork at daycare so I thought I would take a few pictures so you can see what he has been up to all day. I think he may have a calling in the art world if the music doesn't work out for him.

This is the dolphin he painted during animal week, I was very impressed.

Ok so you have to look really closely but there are a few color crayon scribbles on here, hey he's only 14 months old what do you expect!

Here are a few pictures of Daddy and Devin helping me clean over the weekend. If the vacuum is on whoever is running it has to be holding Devin because he loves to vacuum. As you can see he is a snuggler, but man does he get heavy after awhile.

We hope everyone is having a great summer, even if it has been a little on the cool side.

What has Devin been up to?

We have had a very busy July, we went to Eau Claire every weekend. Uncle Steve, Aunt Toni, and cousins Austin, Josh, and Sophi came to Grandma and Grandpa's for a visit.
Here are Devin and Sophi waiting for their supper to be ready. Devin really enjoys eating like a big boy, but sometimes he has trouble sitting still.

Here is Devin waiting like a big boy, I can't believe how much he has changed.

The big kids got in a few games themselves when the little kids weren't walking in the middle of the game. It was a lot of fun to see everyone, hopefully we will see them again soon.

The kids did some swimming in the whale pool grandma and grandpa bought for them. They had a ton of fun, Sophi even washed her daddy's shoes in the pool!! For some reason Devin seemed to prefer being outside the pool, I think the water was a little cool.

The 4th of July was very busy, we went to Shawn and Heidi Oldham's in the Cities for a 4th of July party. We had a lot of fun and Devin enjoyed getting to play with Darren. Sunday Daddy went sailing and Mommy and Devin went to the parade in August.

Devin sat on the curb like a big boy, he thought he was so cool. It was a little scary for mommy because I am not ready for him to be that big already.

Devin also had to walk in the road like the other big kids. I tried to get him to sit on the curb but it was a lost cause after awhile. We even showed Devin how to go out and get the candy they were throwing, but Mommy didn't let him eat any of it, Dawson got it.

Here is another picture of Devin at the parade, he did really well considering how long the parade is and how hot it was. We had to put on a lot of sunscreen and Devin was still a little pink.

Here are the boys (Dawson, Devin, and neighbor David) sitting in the driveway at Grandma and Grandpa's watching the fireworks. Devin just loved them, we had to buckle him into the little car so that he wouldn't run after the fireworks. He was clapping and laughing, it was great, it is amazing to see things from a child's perspective.

Here is Devin and Dawson watching Grandpa's fireworks, Grandpa did some special for Devin because it was only July 3rd but we weren't going to be there for the 4th, Thank You Grandpa!!!
Stay tuned to future blogs, we are going to be moving in August to Buffalo, MN so that Dan and I are closer to our jobs. Yes, for those of you that didn't know Dan does have a job, he has a 6 month contract at Medtronic in Brooklyn Park, MN.
Devin will be going to a new daycare, Kid's Haven, they teach the children sign language, so far we have taught Devin how to sign "more" and he already knows how to do it and what it means, it is great!! Happy Summer everyone!

One Year Pictures

A few weekends ago we had Devin's one year pictures taken by Kelly's friend Gabrielle, we went down to Carson Park. I hope you enjoy the pictures, if you want copies let me know.

We also had Gabrielle take a family picture, Sam was at Grandpa and Grandma's so he didn't get to be in the picture. Don't you just love what the wind does with your hair in pictures!

One Year Old!!!!!!!

Devin is officially 1 year old!!!! I can't believe how fast the time went, it feels like just yesterday he came into our lives. It is hard to remember what life was like without him, well besides for we got a lot more sleep but hey sleep is over rated. Here is Devin with his Caterpillar Birthday cake, I tired to be creative but I couldn't come up with any other ideas so I got a little help from the Hungry Caterpillar book.

Devin is always trying to be a big boy, here is Grandpa helping him so he doesn't get any bumps or bruises. On Devin's Birthday he slipped and fell at daycare giving himself his first black eye, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Devin and Dawson just loved the parties hats Kelly and I picked out for them. Devin actually enjoyed trying to eat his more that wear it. They we also very excited by all the people that came to celebrate with them. Dawson turned 3 the day after their parties.
Thank you everyone for the gifts, Devin just loves them all, our house is being over taken by Devin and all of his toys. The funny part is Devin plays with Mommy's Tupperware more than anything and a wooden spoon from time to time. Oh well what can you do!

Here is Devin playing on his new turtle, his legs are just a little to short to actually push himself but every once in awhile he does get a push in backwards.

As you can see he spends more time walking the turtle around but as long as he is having fun that is the important thing. Next year maybe we will be able to try a bike, yikes that is scary!

Grandma and Grandpa Kattestad have a car for Devin, he just loves to go for rides, if we go outside at all the first place he goes is to the car. We go for lots of rides around the block and down to the park.

Devin's first trip to the park was interesting, he didn't like the sand, when we put him down he refused to walk, he just stood there and then started crying for someone to pick him up. Devin enjoyed swinging with Mommy but he wasn't a big fan of the baby swings that they have. However he did get a swing from Great-Grandma Muldoon for his Birthday and he loves it! We go outside almost every night now and swing, if he is really cranky the swing cheers him up right away.

Devin and Mommy went on a few slides but it was harder than I thought for me to get down the tube slide.

Devin and Daddy had an easier time on the open slide but I still think it would have helped if the slide was a little steeper.

Now that the weather is nice, when we go to Eau Claire we spend a lot of time in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard, Devin loves all the toys they have.

Devin took the John Deere out for a spin, he was actually able to move it a little on his own.

Here are Tanner and Savanah with Grandpa and Uncle John, they are getting so big, they are now 3 months old.

Devin likes to tell a lot of stories and Great-Grandpa Goshaw really enjoys hearing them, I can't wait to see what stories he starts telling when we can finally understand him.

As a typical guy Devin is always looking for the closest remote, the only problem is he likes to carry it around so no one else can use it.

11 Months Old and Walking!

Devin is officially 11 months old, ok so I am a little behind, he will be a year old in three weeks life keeps us busy. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by already.

As you can see from these pictures, now that Devin is walking these monthly pictures are getting very hard to take, he doesn't want to sit still, all he wants to do is eat the sign!

Aunt Kelly tried to help out but Devin was determined to get the sign, or plunge off the couch!

Here is a video of Devin learning how to walk, next week I will sent you a new one so you can see how much better he is doing.

We stopped by to visit Great Grandma Muldoon with the twins and Dawson. We tried to get a picture of all the kids but Dawson didn't want to be in the picture, of course our little ham had no problem getting in the picture. I think Devin knows he is cute!

Devin and Dawson played some music for all of the people where Great Grandma lives, they weren't very good but all of the grandparents thought they were adorable. Good thing they are both cute because so far I am not sure if they are going to be very musical.

Savanah uses Devin's old car seat and he apparently forgot that he doesn't fit in it anymore, so he thought he would try. Unfortunately one of the times he tired to climb in Savanah was in the car seat but I caught him before he hurt her.

As you can see Tanner wasn't impressed with Devin and his climbing abilities, Tanner just wanted to take a nap.

Devin is a big fan of looking out the window at home and watching the kids play across the street, we just have to be careful that he doesn't try to get off the couch himself, he is quite the monkey.
Devin has decided that he wants to be just like Daddy and play with the computer mouse. I think it is one of his favorite toys, besides for the keyboard.

I don't think he really understands how the mouse works but he loves to drive it around like it is a car, oh well whatever makes him happy. Not too much has been going on around here, Dan finished his online class and got a B! Now he is focusing on trying to find a job, everyone cross your fingers.
